I chose to start a career with animals because I wanted to save animals. I volunteer with a shelter and a rescue and I see so many pets with no homes, to know that there are thousands of other animal shelters/rescues out there I needed to do something. I decided that I want to help owners learn more about their pets and understand why they do the things they do (Good or bad), by getting inside of their head to really understand dogs behavior.
When we make that decision to adopted a dog, we think about how much fun we are going to have with them. We certainly don’t think about them eating our furniture and/or shoes, jumping on everyone that walks in the door and barking nonstop as soon as we leave the house. These are some some of the reasons why there are so many dogs in shelters.
Dogs aren’t like us so we need to teach them how to live in our human world. Its worth acknowledging the behavior problems now before it becomes out of control.
Most problems are easy to fix if we just stop and learn why. So what are you waiting for give it a try!
